WEST BANK - Palestinians gave damning one-star reviews of Amazon and Google cloud services used by the Israeli government on Monday, accusing the technology of being a weapon of oppression.

Many of the cutting Google reviews, written on #CyberMonday as well as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, explained how the cloud services were allegedly facilitating arbitrary arrests and apartheid in occupied Palestine.

Amazon and Google signed a $1 billion dollar deal with the Israeli government in May to provide cloud services for the public sector and military. This was just after the 11-day bombing of Gaza in which 253 Palestinians, including 66 children, were killed.

One review suspected "the Israel Land Authority" used Amazon and Google cloud services to forcibly expel Palestinians.

"This is our home," wrote the one-star review from Mariam in Silwan, Jerusalem. "We have nowhere else to go."

Amazon and Google’s $1 billion dollar deal with the Israeli government, named "Nimbus", is a multi-year project to "provide a comprehensive solution" of cloud services, according to the Israeli finance ministry.

Around 1,000 Google and Amazon workers have demanded the companies terminate their contracts, according to Jewish Voice For Peace.

"The Israeli government can use this cloud technology to surveil and criminalize Palestinians, expand illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian land, and inflict even more violence on Palestinians in Gaza," the pro-Palestinian organisation wrote on Instagram Monday.
