GENEVA - UN aid chief Martin Griffiths has warned of the consequences of an operation in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

"All of the predictions about the consequences of an operation in Rafah are coming true," he said on social media site X on Saturday.

"There is almost no food left and humanitarian efforts are stuck," he said.

"The world has lost its way and needs to return to the norms we created."
