BEIRUT - Israel bombed central Beirut for the third time in just over 24 hours on Monday night, after 10 people were killed on Sunday during attacks on areas that had previously been safe.
The most recent attack hit Zuqaq Al Blat, near the Lebanese Parliament and the prime ministerial office.
There was no warning and the target of bombing is unknown. Ambulances could be heard heading to the scene of the attack.
Lebanese media reported that US envoy Amos Hochstein was to arrive in Beirut on Tuesday for talks on a ceasefire. However, the same outlets later reported on Monday evening that the visit had been postponed, as he sought further clarification on Lebanon's position.
A source close to the Lebanese side of the negotiations told The National there were no official dates for Mr Hochstein's visit.
