GENEVA - Artificial intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of discussions in technology, with significant attention on its implications for macroeconomic and social outcomes, notably on disruptions in the jobs market.

Recognizing that in the era of rapid and frequent tech-induced disruption, reskilling and retraining is a public good, the Singapore government subsidizes lifelong learning for its citizens in a substantial way.

Since its inception in 2015, participation rates in training have risen from 35% to approximately 50% by 2022.
