LONDON - The takeover of Newcastle United Football Club by a Saudi-backed consortium is on the brink of being sealed.
Following weeks of secret talks, Premier League lawyers were understood to have been “working frantically” to finalise the takeover in the hope of making an official announcement on Thursday, said The Telegraph.
The deal would see owner Mike Ashley paid around £305m for the club he has owned since 2007.
